OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Over time, we have observed that the interests of the Urhobo nation have been inadequately addressed in the print journalism. The URHOBO TIMES is out therefore, to set a new standard for the Urhobo nation and as such, we are ready to capture the Urhobo interests and bring out the spirit of the Urhobo man and woman. In setting our agenda, we shall endorse hard work, criticize and condemn armchair thoughts and all things that are not in the interests of the Urhobo nation. Where we need to praise we will praise but we will not be praise singers. With a bunch of diligent, penetrating, persuasive, perceptive, thoughtful, skeptical, thorough, careful, determined and well mannered editorial team guided by intellectual honesty, the concern for the Urhobo people's interests in news will be our focus and all those who want to be heard in the different areas of pol-itics, economic activities, infrastructure development, sports, religion, Education, cultural evolvement, entertainment, science and discovery, industry have the URHOBO TIMES as their reliable vessel of contact. We will celebrate the Urhobo culture and encourage speaking and communicating through the Urhobo language across the world. From our motto, the challenge facing the Urhobo nation is disunity and our task is to join all 23 kingdoms in Urhobo land, their sons and daughters at home and in the Diaspora into one indivisible union in order to realize the potentials of her endowed demographic strength in Delta and a voice to be heard and listened to as the fifth largest ethnic nation in Nigeria. We believe that in unity the Urhobo people can become stronger and create wealth which can be used to further develop the Urhobo nation. In this sense, we will strive to defend and promote the ideals, dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU. We will concentrate but not limit our coverage to the borders of Urhobo land and so we extend hands of fellowship to our neighbours as we hope to build and improve relationships across Delta state in particular and the Nigeria nation at large. On this we stand.
